IVF Center Project Management

IVF Center Project Management
Today’s fast life and modern lifestyle has made couples to wait longer to start their own family. We are slowly and gradually moving toward sedentary lifestyle. Long working hours, late age and other social factors are the prime most factors for the increasing number in childless couples. Infertility can be genetic or can be a result of any prolonged illness or medication, but social factors also contribute to the same.
There are various Assisted Reproductive Techniques which help couples to conceive who are unable to conceive through natural method. Among all, In vitro fertilization (IVF) technique is most efficient, effective and result driven.
IVF facility, like all other medical and healthcare facilities, is not an easy one to start and operate. Opening an IVF unit as a standalone or as a dedicated unit in an existing hospital/clinic or a new construction with other medical facilities is a huge decision which needs precision, planning and focus on results than profit. Because of the nature of the technique, facility and process is costly and needs a huge budget. Once the facility is constructed and operational, it involves not only monetary but also emotional investment of the patient, therefore, a slip in the designing and execution of the facility would result in complete failure of the unit.
Keeping in mind the final outcome, that is helping a couple conceive their progeny, IVF unit requires a fool proof plan right from the conception stage. The heart of the IVF facility is the IVF laboratory where embryo is constructed. Therefore, the laboratory designing, equipment procurement, planning, installation, working and functioning needs a dedicated team and proper planning. A laboratory with all modern technology and equipment would ensure in delivering appropriate results with minimum risks. Th best functional laboratory would result in the success of the IVF facility.
We at GCC MED HUB have a dedicated team of doctors, medical professionals, fertility specialists, architects who work closely with client to understand their vision and design a world class laboratory. Combining the two, client’s vision and our expertise, a state of art laboratory is constructed to ensure both success of the facility as well as the procedure. IVF lab designer would work closely with the architect who would design the room. The lab designer decides the type of equipment required, its placement, its functioning and accordingly construction team which includes, electricians, architects, designers, work upon the power connections, backups, etc.
Other than a laboratory a functional IVF facility includes patient preparation room, operating theaters, sterilization rooms, utility rooms. Also, a reception area, waiting rooms, recovery and rest areas are important part of this facility. Our team through their expertise and knowledge helps the client right from the conception stage to the functional stage of the facility.
We have tie ups with professional equipment vendors, construction firms to help the client in planning and designing the facility. If a unit is a standalone, then requirement would be different from that of a dedicated facility in an existing construction. A standalone facility would require infrastructure along with scientific assistance whereas in an existing facility infrastructure needs are already taken care off. Therefore, our approach is more toward custom than general as every facility has different requirement even though purpose remains the same.
